Blogging Delinquent

I'd like to apologize to my loyal followers (Lane) for the lapse in blogging. Things have been happening, but none seemed interesting enough to blog about. Blah. Anyway...EPIC update post, including what I've been up to the last three weeks. And...some random stuff too.

1. Cousin Fest 2012

I spent the second weekend of June at the Cape with my cousins. It was a weekend filled with watermelon, Bocce, beach, and tradition. What a great time!

Congratulations to my cousin Kate on graduating from high school!!!

I was able to attend the shower of one of my college friends, Trina, who is getting married in September! Yay! This pic is WAY over-exposed but its the only one I have :(

The Betty Whites LOST with distinction in the Trivia Tournament of Champions. We're the dumbest of the smart people!

But we redeemed ourselves this week with another victory....

I've concluded that if I starved myself I might look like Mischa Barton.

Brian and I have eaten sushi FOUR times in the last two weeks. The last four times we've gone out to eat, its been SUSHI. He finally decided he likes it, and now he's obsessed!!!

Fridays off are amaze-balls. Michaela and I enjoyed East Matunuck Beach last week. And we went shopping today. LOVE IT.

I wore my first size 12 pair of pants last week. Felt like kind of a big deal!

And finally...WEIGHT UPDATE

After bouncing around for a couple weeks, I lost 3.5 lbs this week, for a total weight loss of over 50 lbs!

Fifty pounds is the same as...

An average seven year old...

One of those giant bags of rock salt...

Six gallons of water...

Among other things!

Feeling great!

Just saying.

I'm about to leave for CousinFest 2012 (3rd Annual) at the Cape! A post on that after the weekend!

Just wanted to say...it's SO nice to step on a scale and weigh myself and not be afraid to have a meltdown.

It's amazing how UN-scary the scale can be when you don't avoid it.

P.S. I lost another pound.

Pounds lost: 48
Pounds to first goal: 22
Pounds to final goal: 32

I Won't Give Up

I'm home from work today. I have conjunctivitis. Boo.

I don't feel like complaining. So I'll share this instead...

"I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz
Dedicated to my favorite person.

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
Well there's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and gifts
We got yeah we got a lot at stake
And in the end,
You're still my friend at least we didn't tend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn, how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
I'm still looking up

I won't give up on us
God knows I'm tough enough
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up...

Another Joyful Celebration!

Just returned from Rhinecliff, NY. Erika and Keith FINALLY tied the knot yesterday.
It was a romantic, magical ceremony with 75 of their closest friends and family.
(and I was lucky enough to be among those people.)

(Seriously, how gorgeous are they?)

Keith waiting for Erika as she walks down the aisle.

Now...Erika is my friend from college. But she and Keith have been together for YEARS so I've known him quite a while. I would call him in Syracuse to help my troubleshoot my computer issues, he is part of many fun weekends and memories in Narragansett, and a great person in his own right!

Gorgeous bride Erika walking down the aisle with her mom.

Erika was radiant in her lace gown. There was laughter and tears as the J.O.P. recounted Erika and Keith's love story, how they fit together as two parts of one whole, and how they are best friends.

It was obvious to everyone there how much they love each other.

Their wedding was at the Rhinecliff Hotel. Pretty views of the Hudson. Gorgeous day. Intimate setting for a small wedding. And what a great time we all had...I actually had TOO good a time and had to be put to bed early!!!

The grounds are very pretty; ideal for photo ops with your handsome date!

I got to see my love Trina again, along with her fiancee Costa. They are getting married this fall.

I also got to enjoy peach champagne, DiSarono & Gingers, and tequila shots.
...Which resulted in even MORE photo ops!

Erika and I have been friends since 2003, our freshman year of college. Over the past five years, we have NEVER lived close by! And so, we don't see each other very often. But there's something to be said about lifelong friends; it doesn't matter HOW OFTEN you see them, since every time you do, it's like no time has gone by.

I have so many amazing, fun, CRAZY, memories with these girls. Blessed to still have them as good friends. Can't believe how old we are!

It was such an honor to be part of Erika's special day. She and Keith are truly made for each other. It's incredible to be able to witness such a huge milestone and event for a close friend; it can be overwhelming and emotional (in a good way.) It makes me so happy to watch Erika take her first step in her new life as a married woman...and celebrate all the great memories still to come!

I'm a beast.

I just had a HUGE 24 hours. (Weight-loss wise, anyway.)

1. Yesterday morning, I ran 10 miles (without stopping) for the first time!!!

I am incredibly excited about that.
To be honest, I teared up a little bit when I finished, because part of me never believed the day would come when I would achieve that!
Running was a secondary goal (with my health being the first) and I wasn't AS focused on the goal of 10 miles as I was on making work outs fun...and so I would run whenever I felt like it. And gradually, the goal came into focus...it was so great to FINALLY reach one of my fitness goals!

Which brings me to my next point...

2. I LOST ANOTHER 5 LBS!

Which is crazy. Just because I thought the days of 5 lbs. lost in a week were over.
Honestly...I'm BLOWN away.
I'm so excited. So pumped.
Don't mess with me.

I feel like my goal is getting closer and closer.

And finally...

3. I decided that I actually want to lose a little more weight than I originally thought.
I'm going to move my goal weight down 10 lbs. And it will officially be known as my "final goal."

SO:

Pounds lost: 47
Pounds till original goal: 23
Pounds till final goal: 33

Also, HAPPY WEDDING DAY to ERIKA & KEITH! Heading to NY in a few hours to celebrate! (They will have their own dedicated post later in the weekend!)

P.S. Happy June!!
